Who Goes There? became "The Thing From Another World"
In this issue we have the John Campbell (writing under a pseudonym) story "Who Goes There?" which was adapted into the 1951 movie "The Thing From Another
...
World" and later John Carpenter's "The Thing" in 1982. The cover illustration shows a Star Trek - like spaceship engine room with a malfunction the only the Scottish engineer can fix. That's an odd double coincidence unless this story is what inspired Gene Roddenberry. That sure *looks* like a Warp Core but is probably more of a drive shaft. The upside down guy on the catwalk is a nice touch from the illustrator to let you know it's a spaceship.
